Vivendi is very satisfied with the confirmation by the ICSID of the award issued in its favor on August 2007

In a decision released on August 10, 2010, the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) rejected Argentina's action to annul the award rendered in favor of Vivendi, on August 20, 2007. This award determined that the acts of provincial officials of Tucumán violated rights of Vivendi and its subsidiary Compañía de Aguas del Aconquija (CAA) and the Treaty between France and Argentina that protects foreign investors.

The ICSID had awarded Vivendi and CAA $105 million for damages plus interest and costs.

Vivendi is very satisfied with this decision rendered in its favor, in a long-running dispute, initiated in 1997, over a water services concession contract in the Argentine Province of Tucumán.

Vivendi arranges early refinancing of a €1 billion credit line

Vivendi has just completed the refinancing of a 3-year credit line for €1 billion, which would normally have matured on 29 February 2011. This credit line will be replaced in September 2010 by new financing for the same amount and for a 5 year term (maturing in September 2015). This refinancing has been set up on excellent terms with more than ten banks. It will enable Vivendi to reinforce its financial security.

Vivendi: Favorable US Supreme Court Judgement

The American Supreme Court, in a very clear statement yesterday, ruled that any foreign shareholders from any country or company outside the US buying or selling shares on Foreign Stock Exchanges cannot plead for compensation under American law.

Vivendi, who was amicus curiae in the case, is very satisfied with this decision as it is totally in line with the position defended all along by the Group in the American and French Courts.

Lucian Grainge appointed member of the Vivendi Management Board

Vivendi announced today the appointment of Lucian Grainge, Co-CEO of Universal Music Group (UMG), as a member of the Vivendi Management Board, joining Mr. Jean-Bernard Lévy (Chairman), Bertrand Méheut, Frank Esser, Abdeslam Ahizoune and Philippe Capron.

He will take up the position of Chief Executive Officer of UMG on Jan. 1st 2011, based in New York, succeeding Doug Morris, who will remain as Chairman. Prior to that time he will work alongside Doug as co-chief executive as from July 1st 2010.

Lucian Grainge CBE, a British citizen, started his career with CBS/April Music in 1979, advancing to positions in Artists & Repertoire (A&R) and talent development, and rising to senior management positions at PolyGram UK and Universal Music internationally. Under Lucian Grainge's leadership since 2005, Universal Music Group International, which manages its businesses in more than 50 countries, has grown its market share worldwide, broken global acts and led the music industry in developing a range of new digital services.

Vivendi notes the decision announced today by the Paris Court of Appeal.

Acknowledging that no judgment in this matter has yet been rendered in the United States, the Court of Appeal has rejected Vivendi's application for a ruling that it was improper for a few French shareholders to participate in the American class action.

Vivendi regrets that the Court of Appeal has decided not to make a ruling at this stage on the question of whether American class actions were in accordance with French public policy.
